Vertigo and dizziness can be disorienting and disruptive, making daily activities difficult. These symptoms often stem from inner ear disorders, neurological conditions, or blood flow issues affecting the brain. At Grove Neurology, we specialize in diagnosing and treating the root causes of vertigo and dizziness, helping patients restore balance, reduce episodes, and improve their quality of life
Vertigo & Dizziness
Common causes include inner ear disorders (BPPV, Meniere’s disease, vestibular neuritis), migraines, neurological conditions (stroke, multiplesclerosis), and low blood pressure.
If dizziness is accompanied by numbness, weakness, vision changes, difficulty speaking, or imbalance, a neurological evaluation is recommended to rule out brain-related causes.
Diagnosis includes a neurological exam, vestibular testing, balance assessments, imaging (MRI/CT), and hearing tests to determine the underlying cause.
Treatment depends on the cause and may include vestibular rehabilitation, medication, inner ear repositioning maneuvers (such as the Epley maneuver), or neurological therapies.
In some cases, vertigo can indicate a stroke, multiple sclerosis, or other neurological conditions. It’s important to seek medical attention if symptoms are sudden, severe, or accompanied by weakness or vision changes
