Nerve compression syndromes occur when nerves become pinched or compressed, leading to pain, numbness, tingling, and weakness. Common conditions include Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, and Sciatica, which can significantly impact daily activities. At Grove Neurology, we specialize in diagnosing and treating nerve compression disorders, offering advanced therapies to relieve pressure, restore nerve function, and improve quality of life.

Nerve Compression Syndromes

Conditions such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (wrist), Cubital Tunnel Syndrome (elbow), Sciatica (lower back and leg), and Radial or Peroneal Nerve Compression are among the most frequent.

Symptoms include numbness, tingling, burning pain, weakness, or loss of grip strength, often worsening with repetitive movement or prolonged positioning.

Diagnosis may involve a neurological exam, nerve conduction studies (NCS), electromyography (EMG), and imaging (MRI or ultrasound) to assess nerve function and pinpoint the affected area.

Treatment options include wrist splints, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, nerve gliding exercises, corticosteroid injections, and in some cases, surgery to relieve pressure on the nerve.

Mild cases may improve with rest, posture adjustments, and therapy. However, persistent or worsening symptoms may require medical intervention to prevent permanent nerve damage.

Contact Grove Neurology for a consultation. Our specialists will assess your symptoms and develop a personalized treatment plan to help you regain function and relieve pain.
