My perception of a doctor always flunks to subzero when their out of pocket rates surpass $350; this office is amongst the most ridiculous rates I’ve heard in my life. That says a lot taken that I’ve had to navigate the American health system my whole life. When a patient is willing to pay out of pocket it’s because they truly need a doctor. It’s unethical to try to squeeze that amount of money out of a patient just because your out of their insurance network. A first time out of pocket consultation in this office is nearly 1/4 of a 2 year orthodontic treatment. You do the math.
